MasterTar constructs tar driveways in accordance with the degree of wear that they are likely to encounter. Domestic driveways are unlikely to require the same quality and quantity of base reparation as a very robust road surface in an area with high traffic volumes. Domestic drives will also usually be hand-laid as opposed to roads that are laid using mechanical pavers.
The topography of your site will influence drainage requirements to avoid undermining and weakening the tar driveway. We believe that spending on appropriate under-tar drainage and kerbing is more than offset by repairs to cheaper, lightly constructed driveways that are easily weakened by run-off water such as rain, irrigation and pool drainage.
MasterTar also undertakes repairs to tar driveways, but in many cases has to perform a complete patch and over-Tar job to remedy extensive cracks and potholes. This is far more expensive than repairing a single pothole, but looks better than a patched drive and usually extends the life of the driveway by an additional 12 years.
